I often see myself as somewhat content with my life and the way things are. It is sometimes hard to admit when I am not completely happy or if I have unresolved issues.
It is like opening Pandora’s box and sometimes it seems easier to not ruffle feathers. This only works for a short period. I know I cannot hide my feelings forever and at some point I must address them. Issues that are not resolved do not go away, they just simply get put on a shelf, until the next time they manifest themselves.
We all have problems, but they shouldn’t bother or hinder us from our daily activities or from becoming all we can be.
If your problems are consuming your life, never being resolved or addressed, then it may be time to make some changes in your life. Unresolved issues can lead to stress and depression and if left untreated, these medical conditions can have damaging effects on your health and well being.
Like everyone, I aspire to have something deeper and more meaningful in my life and often wonder if I have done all that I can. It is called having hopes and dreams. If we had nothing to strive for, our lives would be meaningless.
They say you can’t teach an old dog new trick, but no one actually believes this. Dog lovers will be the first to tell you; dogs are smarter than we give them credit for.
So what does all this mean? It means we need to take a moment to stop and reflect on our lives once in awhile. Where we are at the moment and where we strive to be. It is called taking a step towards self empowerment.
Self empowerment can help improve many areas of your life. It starts by asking yourself some tough questions, such as:
- What is it that I really want?
- Should I really change?
- What’s the bright side in all of this?
- Am I comfortable with what I’m doing right now in my life?
- Have I done enough for myself?
- Am I happy at where I am today?
- What are the things that I need to change in my life?
- How much could I have?
- What could I have done better?
- How do I take the next step towards achieving my new goals?
I have asked myself these very same questions many times. Sometimes the answers come easy and sometimes they are difficult, but they are always insightful. The hardest part is deciding what to do with the answers once you have gotten them.
You may never be able to address each and every one, but the point is you made an effort. You cannot expect more than that from yourself. Take pride in knowing that any change you make towards self empowerment, is a step towards better health and well being.
The more you become empowered, the more confident you will be and in return you will benefit by being a successful individual. Successful people are leaders, they exude confidence and they empower themselves to be all they can be. Most often, they are the Donald Trump’s of the world. You can too, with a little effort and a positive attitude.
